Feeling unwell? You may not need to wait for a GP. Our pharmacist can assess and treat seven common conditions on the spot β and, where appropriate, supply prescription-only medicines including antibiotics. All free on the NHS.
NHS Pharmacy First lets you get advice and treatment for a range of everyday conditions directly from our pharmacy, without needing to book a GP appointment. Our trained pharmacist will assess your symptoms in our private consultation room and recommend the best course of action.
If you need a prescription-only medicine β such as antibiotics for a UTI or antivirals for shingles β the pharmacist can supply it there and then where clinically appropriate. There's nothing to pay unless you normally pay for prescriptions.
Anyone can walk in and ask. Some conditions have age criteria (shown below), and our pharmacist will always check the service is right for you. If it isn't, we'll point you to the best alternative β including referral to your GP or NHS 111 when needed.
